Pathfinder Associates, Inc. was formed in 2006 to focus on the intersection between business technology and lifestyle technology.

  • The use of computer technology from 1960-1995 was largely limited to businesses processing their accounting and inventory.

  • With the growth of internet connectivity and the world wide web in the late 1990's people found that they could interact directly with businesses and share information directly with others.

  • In the early 2000's this use of technology exploded to blur the lines between technology used for business purposes and technology used for lifestyle purposes -- for example:
    • Boaters used technology to locate and share their own points of interest over the internet as they cruised the coastline
    • Ham radio operators used HF radio bands to send and receive emails and VHF bands to share GPS locations over the internet

In 2006 Chris Barlow left McKinsey & Company to form Pathfinder Associates, Inc. Chris had been a Partner in McKinsey's Business Technology practice and had watched the changing technology landscape while serving the CEOs and CIOs of the world's largest corporations.

Pathfinder Associates, Inc. focuses on the development and management of both business and lifestyle technology.
